THE LORD’s Taverners celebrated the local branch’s 30th anniversary with a special dinner.
More than 300 people turned out for the black-tie event at Beau Sejour on Saturday night, including past president Sir Peter Le Cheminant, cricketer Mike Gatting and Neil Durden-Smith, who was the UK chairman at the time the local branch was established.
‘We always love coming to Guernsey,’ said Mr Durden-Smith.
‘It’s a very special place for us.
‘There are still people here that I remember from 30 years ago.
‘The Guernsey region has done fantastically well over the years. It’s been really successful.’
