QUESTIONS were asked whether there were football fans among the players at the KGV on Saturday.
Certainly Wanderers and St Ouen had plenty of time to shower, change and have a spot of lunch before enjoying the FA Cup final having seen their own CI League match end at just 1.29pm.
Having been put in to bat on a belter of a pitch, the visitors floundered to just 88 all out, reaching only the 31st of their allotted 50 overs.
While there was some decent bowling from Wanderers, the fact that they also gifted St Ouen 19 of their total in wides emphasised the disappointing effort with the willow from the understrength Jersey outfit.
The highest partnership they managed to cobble together was the opening effort of 18 while skipper Danny Blasco’s contribution of 19 was the best individual score.
