Jersey 59, Guernsey 62
GUERNSEY kept their composure and made Jersey pay the price for their foul trouble to retain the men’s inter-insular on Saturday.

By the end of the match, the hosts had four of their players out of the game having accrued five fouls each at Fort Regent and those odds were just too much to overcome, despite having established a healthy lead in the early stages of the second half.

However, Guernsey responded well to that deficit and captain Andy Stephens emphasised afterwards that his belief had not wavered.

‘Some games are like that,’ said Stephens.

‘We had a weak defence to begin with, but we lifted it. We stuck with our game plan and kept lifting the bar. I’m not going to single out any of the guys, but I never thought we were going to lose.’
