Simpson loses out in 92 minutes

Chris SimpsonCHRIS SIMPSON was put through a gruelling opening qualifying round at the Sky Open at the weekend and did not come out on the right end of the result.

The Guernseyman, 23, who is ranked No. 49 in the world, was on court in Egypt for 92 minutes but lost out in the deciding fifth game to 20-year-old Englishman Joe Lee 11-9, 9-11,

6-11, 11-9, 11-6.

It was the first time Lee had beaten the Sarnian in a competitive match.

The Sky Open is a PSA Super Series 2010 event and attracts the best players in the world to Cairo to compete for the $150,000 prize money.
