Double capture?
Friday 21st May 2010, 2:30PM BST.
THEY may have been beaten back by the planners in their bid to develop Les Vauxbelets, but Rangers are at least smiling on the playing side.
After winning the Clydesdale FA Cup to clinch their first Martinez Cup appearance in donkey’s years, Rangers seem to have won the battle to hold onto two of their top players, skipper Sam Stables and island squad member Jacques Isabelle.
And, as the rumour mill slowly gets turning with the window opening in 11 days’ time, it seems they could be about to gain two more very handy players in the form of the St Martin’s duo, Naro Zimmerman and Billy Page.
The former Bels pair have been linked with a move from Blanche Pierre Lane for the past couple of months.
Paul Ockleford (pictured), the Rangers coach, yesterday would not confirm or deny whether the pair were joining, but went on the record regarding the future of Stables and Isabelle, who have been chased by North.

Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
Naro is a good player with good island potential but I don’t personally think BIlly Page will make much difference either way to either club especially if you look at his goal per game stat this year (not that that is the only thing to judge people on). Rangers may also now lose a couple of long term faitful team members to other clubs if theres a bit more competition so hopefully it will be the most competitive league yet with even more lower teams potentially nicking points off the big boys.
