Three see a night raider plunder Forest flower stall
Friday 21st May 2010, 2:30PM BST.
IN THE dark of a cold, damp December night, Richard Milford thought a Forest Road flower stall offered easy pickings.
There was plenty of cash in the money box – and getting it out was simple, with a tool made specially for the job.
But Milford, 32, reckoned without two observant care assistants at a nearby home – who had popped out for a smoke – and a keen-eyed neighbour.
Their evidence – and the wad of wet notes the police found on him – saw him found guilty in a Magistrate’s Court trial of stealing from the stall.
Milford, who had previous convictions, will be sentenced on 10 June once the Probation Service has prepared a pre-sentencing report.
