GAGE DEMORE jabbed and punched his way into island boxing folklore on Saturday when he became the first islander to win a national ABA title.
The 16-year-old (pictured) beat Jonathan Brown comfortably on points at the Barnsley Metrodome.
He will now box for England at the forthcoming Four Nations tournament and, later this summer, wear the national vest at the European Championships.
‘It’s an indescribable feeling really,’ said Graham Guilbert’s protege on the return journey yesterday.
‘It feels amazing.’
