‘That’s one for my gran’
Monday 24th May 2010, 2:29PM BST.
ANDY PRIAULX brushed away tears on live television after winning the 14th race of his world touring car championship career in Monza yesterday.
The Guernseyman dedicated a remarkable victory to the memory of his gran, Vera Short, who had died in the week.
The win in race one, followed by fifth place in race two, has propelled him right back into the thick of the title race. Lying fourth, he now trails leader Yvan Muller by just 26 points and is two behind Gabriele Tarquini and Robert Huff in joint second.
