THE island’s big guns have been itching to get going this best of all Mays.
Last night they finally got to sample the official Sarnian T20 and as a spectacle it did not disappoint, although the two sets of players who finished on the losing side may have gone home feeling on the low side.
In total, the two games produced 617 runs from 77.3 overs and one cracking finish at Port Soif where a refreshingly young Argylls side edged out Wanderers.
In a last-over thriller at Port Soif, Argylls prevailed by just seven runs with a side that included seven teenagers and were skippered by wicket-keeper Tom Kimber, just 20 (pictured).
Argylls managed 160 in their overs, but lost their way a little after Tim Ravenscroft and Will Peatfield had both made composed and classy fifties.
