Youngsters show the way as Lees finishes in sixth

GUERNSEY’S young up-and-coming regatta fleet sailors showed the way at the Volvo Musto Inland Optimist Championship at Grafham this month.
In the 94-strong fleet, Tom Lees (pictured) finished sixth, Eloise Tanguy 19th and Freddy Moss 24th, and together with the other GYC sailors in the 11-strong island regatta fleet they pulled together one of the best team performances in recent years.
‘I am very pleased with the weekend,’ said Lees.
‘My goal was to finish top-15 overall and coming sixth clearly exceeded my expectations.’
