Businessman’s tax move good for island, says T&R minister

ENTREPRENEURS such as Stephen Lansdown are a welcome addition to the island, Guernsey’s ‘chancellor’ has said.
The co-founder of financial services firm Hargreaves Lansdown and chairman of Bristol City Football Club has moved to the island to escape the UK’s new 50% tax rate.
And Treasury minister Charles Parkinson (pictured) said it was good news for the island that businessmen of such calibre were moving here.
‘Obviously Guernsey welcomes entrepreneurs like this and I very much hope that Hargreaves Lansdown set up an operation in the island,’ he said.
