PANTHERS completed the double last night after a comfortable victory over nearest rivals Abarth in the knockout cup final.
After pipping Abarth to the league title with two victories late in the season, they were always favourites to add another trophy to the cabinet, especially with their opponents suffering from the absence of up to six first team players.
After a scrappy start which saw the sides trade blows, the Panthers opened up a 25-13 lead by the end of the first quarter, thanks to some outstandingly quick counter-attacking play.
With Abarth’s lack of depth meaning they only had one replacement at all times, their fatigue also showed from an early stage and, in all honesty, they looked dead and buried early on.
