Peter HeadAT THE beginning of this year, Sportingbet Guernsey Marathon race director Peter Head set himself a challenge to run six marathons during the course of 2010.

Having completed events in Paris and London in April and now Edinburgh at the weekend, Head (pictured) has signed up for a seventh event, taking on the Jersey Marathon shortly after organising the local marathon on 29 August.

He will then complete Dublin on 25 October and New York on 7 November, all in support of the charities Get Kids Going and Headway Guernsey.

‘While running the Paris marathon I got chatting to a lady and we agreed it would be fun to run the Jersey marathon together. Having already signed up to run five other marathons and, of course, the Sportingbet Guernsey Marathon on August Bank Holiday as an organiser, I thought “why not do one more?”,’ he said.

‘This is shaping up to be a very memorable year for me.’
