Delhi-bound swimmers happy with preparation

GUERNSEY’S Commonwealth Games swimmers impressed in one of their final race meets before Delhi in October.
With just over four months left before the Games begin, attention will now turn to training and preparation for the six-strong team, three of whom were competing at the weekend.
In what was another record-breaking meet in all ages and strokes, the three elite swimmers on show produced arguably the race of the weekend on Saturday afternoon in the 100m butterfly.
Guernsey Swimming Club’s Ben Lowndes (pictured) beat India team-mate Alexander Beaton by a fingertip, with Ian Hubert following close behind.
All three will compete in that discipline in the Games, with the rest of the team spread among other events.
