Deception case: accused may not be fit to plead

AN IMMIGRATION adviser who believed evidence against her was part of a conspiracy plot might be judged unfit to plea.
Local woman Angelique Blin, 49, of Overseas Angels, is accused of seven counts of deception, or an alternatively of theft, totalling £26,000 spanning 18 months over 2007 and 2008.
Advocate Peter Ferbrache, defending, told the Royal Court his client had failed to give proper instruction for him to act as her defence and she did not understand the details of the evidence. He asked the court for the case to be adjourned for psychiatric treatment.
Judge Russell Finch will sum up this morning and the jurats will retire to make their decision.
