A FORMER nightclub operator claims that the owner of Browns Restaurant owes him £10,000.

In the Petty Debts Court, Martin Rogan, the former tenant of Rogues Nightclub, claimed he was owed the money for his time, expertise and expenses after entering into a verbal agreement with Mel Brown, of Brown’s Restaurant.

The agreement was to buy the lease of 15, North Plantation, St Peter Port, in March 2009, which saw Mr Brown paying the capital amount for the business. He opened restaurant Quindici there.

Mr Brown said the restaurant was making a significant loss and when approached by a third party to see if he wanted to sell it he consulted his advocate and accountant.

Mr Brown said as far as he was concerned there was no verbal agreement between him and Mr Rogan.
