Forum gives reassurance over funds

ITV news anchor Alastair Stewart was ‘the perfect host’ of the Guernsey Funds Forum.
LONDON’S investment community has been reassured at the Guernsey Funds Forum that the island will remain a leading funds centre.
More than 250 delegates attended the event, which among other things looked to address any fears the City might have in relation to doing business with Guernsey after the recent votes on the alternative investment fund managers directive in the EU.
‘This event was aimed at reassuring our key supporters in London that we are dealing positively with a number of current uncertainties, in particular the AIFM directive, and as a result of this work, the island continues to be an attractive and competitive funds domicile,’ said GuernseyFinance chief executive Peter Niven.
‘It was a recurring theme that came from all our panellists and one that was accepted and well received by the many delegates.’
