ANDY PRIAULX is out to challenge the traditional top dogs in his first start at the world-famous 24-hour race in Le Mans.

Practice and qualifying got under way yesterday for Saturday’s showpiece event and Team BMW Motorsport is looking to build on promising results so far this season in the Le Mans Series LM GT2 category when they come up against the might of Ferrari and Porsche.

Since 2005, Priaulx has started all the 116 WTCC races held so far, finishing 106 of them, claiming 14 wins and scoring 505 points at an average of 4.35 per race.
