Day 6, 0.47am, Wednesday 9 June, Hotel Ibis, Prague
Thursday 10th June 2010, 9:44AM BST.
Well it turned out that we were not the only ones who didn’t make the campsite last night.
And there have been some horror stories.
While myself and Manno were about 2.5hrs from the campsite, a group of cars found themselves in the early hours on a pass that went above the snowline in the pitch black.
The road was also covered in ice.
They eventually made their way down to the campsite at around 2am and considerably shaken up.
There were also stories of people camping on mountainsides and a car that got rescued by mountain police after the road in front of them collapsed away.
One team also ended up sleeping in their car on the side of a mountain road.
The Ghostbusters hearse finally hit the dust and was left abandoned halfway up a mountain.
Needless to that there were a few grumbles in the camp this morning.
But this is Bubblegum Bangers Extreme and covering the miles that we’ll do in eight days was not going to be easy.
Any way, today was another day and it turned out to be less of a hardship than yesterday.
We got on the road at 7am and made our way from the Italian Alps, via Innsbruck, Austria and Munich, Germany to arrive in Prague at midnight.
Everybody that has arrived has headed into the city and I will be enjoying them shortly.
I need a beer.
