Largest law firm rated top in four out of five areas

THE Channel Islands’ largest law firm, Mourant Ozannes, leads in the recognition given to Guernsey practices in the 2010 edition of Chambers Europe.

The leading legal directory’s annual publication has ranked the firm – the merger of Mourant du Feu & Jeune and Ozannes was completed at the start of the month – in the top band for four out of five categories.

In total, the directory recognises 10 local practices in its Guernsey section, which covers investment funds, trusts, dispute resolution, employment and property.

Robert Shepherd, pictured, Mourant Ozannes’ Guernsey managing partner, said the firm was delighted with its rankings, which saw it miss out on top-band rating only in trusts.
