After leaving Lahnstein at 6.45am, we finally made the 600km journey to the Abbeville Race Track, which is 100km south of Calais just in time for the 1.30pm start of the Bubblegum Bangers Rally Grand Prix.

It’s been mayhem.

All the weird and wonderful bangers have been tearing around the tight and twisty track in different heats and miraculously no one has come a cropper yet.

Manno and myself are awaiting our turn and needless to say after my adventures in the media challenge hill climb that saw me stack our Mazda after the finishing line, I will not be going hell for leather.

And literally just as I write this, the silver BMW of The Anchormen has just lost it at a right-hander and collided into the barrier.

The boys have got out OK to the rapturous applause of the other Bubblegum Bangers, but the front of their Beemer is not looking too fresh as steam is gushing out of it’s bonnet.

Really looking forward to going out now…
