ONE family had a special reason to celebrate on a poignant anniversary this year.

Helen Bailey went into labour with her first child on Tuesday, a year to the day after her mother, Jocelyn Watts, died.

Claudia Jocelyn Bailey was born the following evening, at 10.25pm, weighing 6lb 12.5oz and parents Helen, 34, head of PE at Ladies’ College and Andrew, 29, assistant manager at Richmond Fiduciary Group, were thrilled.

‘It’s very exciting to bring Claudia home to The Gables,’ said Mrs Bailey. She said it had been her mother’s idea for them to buy the house next door to her parents Ray and Joc at Meadow Court Farm, where Joc grew up.
