TOWN was filled with the sound of car horns yesterday as the Bubblegum Bangers finally arrived back from their European odyssey.
They may have suffered burst tyres, physical and mental breakdowns and thousands of kilometres of European roads, but the cars came off Condor with their drivers smiling and laughing together.
Organiser Brin Harrison finished the 2010 trip and was greeted by his family outside the White Rock Cafe.
‘I feel a mixture of exhaustion, relief and just such happiness that it went how it went – it was such a resounding success,’ he said.
‘We have raised £40,000 for charity, too.’
