MOORINGS at Havre Gosselin in Sark have been reinstated.
Chief Pleas had previously decided that Sark Moorings, the company that provides the visitor moorings there and at Greve de la Ville, should make a payment to the island to ‘commercially exploit the seabed’.
That was later thrown out but it had been feared that the decision could force the closure of the moorings and reduce the number of visitors to the island.
The company that owns Sark Moorings pulled out the moorings to replace the chains and bobbers and said they would not be available until next year.
However local businesses, Sark Tourism and Welcome to Sark, have now invested between £15,000 and £18,000 to reinstate them.
