THERE has been a 37% increase in the number of people asking for information about the island as a holiday destination.

‘This is very good news, and matches what we are seeing elsewhere. We’re experiencing a significant increase in Guernsey from a variety of sources,’ said Chris Elliott, director of marketing and tourism for Commerce and Employment.

‘Visits to our website www.visit guernsey.com are up 30% at around 150,000 a month and demand for brochures is at its highest for years. We expect to be sending out more than 100,000 this year.
