ORGANISERS of yesterday’s first Pants in the Park were astonished by how much support it had.

Organisers Lee and Jill Mathews estimated that 100 people were to turn up for the event to raise awareness of prostate cancer, which claimed the life of their father in November.

But in the event, there were more than 150 running the paths of Saumarez Park.

‘We’re lost for words,’ said Mr Mathews.

‘We’ve run out of numbers. More than £500 has been raised. It has been a brilliant effort.’
