Uefa frustrating GFA’s schedules
Tuesday 22nd June 2010, 2:30PM BST.
NEXT season’s Division One and cup fixtures are on hold while the Guernsey Football Association await confirmation about where and when they play in the Uefa Regions Cup.
Croatia, the designated hosts, are very late in tying up arrangements to stage the competition but, said GFA chairman Mark Le Tissier, there is no truth in rumours that the week-long tournament had been switched to Wales.
The Croats had supposed to provide details of hosting the five-nation tournament by 30 April.
Another deadline has, apparently, passed, which is proving very frustrating to the GFA who wish to work their domestic fixtures around the tournament.
‘Waiting on Uefa is delaying work on the fixture list,’ said a frustrated Le Tissier (pictured) yesterday.
