THE Salerie Car Park provided the perfect venue for this weekend’s celebration of 50 years of karting in Guernsey.
A great viewing platform in the form of the sea wall enabled the large number of spectators to experience the fast-paced action and enjoy the atmosphere.
It was evident from the thrilling races just how far the Guernsey Kart & Motor Club has come from its early days, when it was formed in 1960 to race the newly-developed sport of karting.
Many months of hard work from the organising committee together with the boundless energy and enthusiasm from club members were rewarded with fine weather and a memorable day for everyone.
