Three injured in seafront pile-up

AN ELDERLY woman and a husband and wife were injured in a three-car collision in St George’s Esplanade yesterday.

A baby travelling with its parents was unharmed in the incident, which happened at about 10.44am.

According to witnesses, the three cars were travelling in the direction of Town with the front car attempting to turn off when the accident happened.

‘It was quite a bang,’ said one man who did not wish to be named.

Two fire appliances, four emergency ambulances and police attended the scene at the La Piette Road junction.
