ALAN ROWE emerged victorious as 42 triathletes from the Guernsey Triathlon Club competed in the second race of the De Putron Fund Management Summer Triathlon Series at Les Ammareurs.
The first stage saw competitors take to the water to complete two laps of the bay, having to avoid passing fishing boats as they went. This added challenge led to some rough racing, which eventually broke up the pack.
Sam Herridge put in her usual strong swim to be first out of the water, closely followed by newcomer Philip Le Pelly, showing great form just half-a-minute behind. Rowe followed in third place.
The flat coastal bike route that followed saw some impressive times, with the stronger cyclists cutting through the pack to move to the front.
