Sir Norman in firing line for planning law views

ALDERNEY’S President of the States was criticised at yesterday’s States meeting.
Members were scathing after Sir Norman Browse issued a Green Paper on planning obligations and community gain in June’s Billet d’Etat.
In the paper, Sir Norman (pictured) branded community gain ‘immoral’ and said the island’s planning rules needed to be clearly defined.
The comments provoked a fiery people’s meeting, during which the Building and Development Control Committee was branded ‘appalling’.
Liz Bennett, a former BDCC chairman, said the President’s comments were unforgivable.
