ENGLAND’S crucial World Cup match brought parts of Town to a standstill yesterday as fans crammed into anywhere showing the game.
Kick-off was at 3pm but that did not stop eager supporters taking the whole afternoon off to watch the crunch encounter with Slovenia that ended in a 1-0 victory for England.
Fusion Nightclub erupted when Jermain Defoe put the only goal past the keeper. Indoor fireworks added to the celebrations.
In the White Hart pub there was hardly enough room to stand as fans squeezed in to get a view of one of the TV screens.
Outside in the street people were enjoying a more relaxed atmosphere.

I’m half English by the way, but my English half supports the cricket and rugby teams! :-)
