Ogier: ‘We had a positive effect’

A YEAR is a long time in football.
And for Guernsey Athletics, that is certainly true.
Twelve months ago they were only just back in existence and had no players as they returned nearly half-a-century after going defunct in 1962.
But after a season in which dramatic strides were made, including winning the Stranger Cup in April, the future is looking rosy for Steve Ogier’s side.
With a squad that expanded regularly throughout the season, Ogier is delighted at the way things have gone, although he admits the early weeks and months were tough.

hopefully they remain competitive this year with the loss of a few players. Unfortunately no second team is always going to make keeping a big enough squad with enough quality tough

But, according to the Tics website, they are due to announce some significant signings!
More fringe & second team players who suddenly become “stars” in the eyes of Rob Batitse just as they join Tics??
