PAUL PRICE was the quickest man on what was a slow day of sprint racing at Vazon on Saturday.

Price’s time of 10.34sec. was just enough to scrape ahead of rival John Rawlinson’s 10.37, both times coming in the middle of the afternoon’s action.

The scorching hot day was more weather for the beach than racing, with engines feeling the effects and running considerably slower than normal.

However, there was two class records broken, Mark Scott’s time of 13.00sec. comfortably beating his own time set five years ago in what was an extremely impressive drive, while Paul Priaulx’s 10.85 was a new mark in the racing cars 601-1,100cc category.
