Guernsey granite used for the steps at St Paul’s Cathedral was dressed in an outbuilding next to Carteret Hall at Cobo.
But proposals to demolish it have been submitted as part of a wider planning application that will see the hall converted into flats.

Do you honestly think that anyone cares enough, or even bothered enough to try and save our historical Items and buildings.
If it were anywhere else- say UK there would Be uproar, but the money grabbing lot we have these days in Guernsey don’t give a hoot about our Island.
And the worst offenders are those who allow such things to happen. that old school tie keeps waving in the breeze- hopefully it will stop one day- and let our Island be GUERNSEY once more- not the showpiece for those who think they are influential.

Looks like a fallen down old shed to me – knock it down!

…I don’t get how this is a building of historical importance. So…the granite to make the steps of st pauls’s cathedral was chipped in this outhouse? is that right?
Looks like a bit of an eye sore to me.

Must agree with Dave and Eh on this one. Let the bulldozing begin!

I’m all for protecting historical buildings but is this really that historically important? If we were talking about St Paul’s Cathedral it would be a different matter but an outbuilding where stones were dressed to help build the steps? Stretching things a bit in my book I’m afraid.
