A NEW sculpture to welcome visitors to Herm was unveiled yesterday at its harbour.

As part of the Arts and Islands Council initiative, sculptor Ev Meynell has loaned a piece entitled In Flight to the island.

He officially unveiled it to the public and to an audience that included Eric Snell, director of the Arts and Island’s Council.

Mr Snell said the stainless steel piece with resin marble infill, which was originally created for the London Docklands, was a fitting artwork for the island.

‘It’s a form that is sensitive to what it is about,’ he said.
