Fund manager warns against too many eggs in UK basket

A FUND manager has warned against the dangers of investing too much in the UK market.
Mark Whitehead (pictured), London-based with Sarasin and Partners, issued the warning while in the island speaking to an audience of local finance professionals at the latest Sarasin investment seminar organised by the Guernsey office.
He said the concentration of risk through investing in UK companies was just too high right now following dividend cuts and omissions over recent years.
‘A lot of people have always thought the UK market has always produced stronger dividend yield and it’s done a nice job for people, while other markets hadn’t.
