Druce chases the clock in Belgium
Saturday 3rd July 2010, 2:29PM BST.
TOM DRUCE is one notable absentee from the Sportingbet Channel Islands Athletic Club men’s team going into today’s second British Athletics League Division Four match.
Having won the first match in Ashford, Kent last month, the Jersey and Guernsey athletes are competing in Bedford in the second of four matches over the summer.
But Druce (pictured), who won in the CI’s opening match, is in Belgium chasing a fast time over 400m at the Flanders Cup meeting.
‘Disappointingly, we are unable to field as strong a team this time round so our guys will need to pull out all the stops to maintain their position at the top of the table,’ said CI head coach Andrew Winnie.
