Cadets can give Bisley squad an early lift

Monday 5th July 2010, 2:29PM BST.

Peter JoryLOCAL hopes are high ahead of this year’s Bisley meeting.

Regarded as the world’s premier shooting event, Guernsey will be sending a team of more than 20 people, who will start travelling to the UK from the middle of next week, before the action begins in earnest only days later.

Before that happens, the Elizabeth College team will have their moment to shine, as they shoot in the cadet’s competitions, before seven of the youngsters remain to compete in the main event.

The best local hopes rest on the shoulders of Nick Mace and the Jory brothers, Peter and Adam.

And Peter (pictured) is confident that the whole of the team can do themselves and Guernsey proud, most importantly in the Queen’s Prize, the most prestigious trophy on offer.
