Man, 73, found dead in flat after three months

AN ELDERLY man’s body lay undiscovered in a flat in Torteval for almost three months, it has emerged.
Residents of the close-knit parish community were shocked to learn of the discovery and surprised such a thing could happen in Guernsey.
Police found the body of Edward Ogier, 73, in April after neighbours complained about the smell coming from his rented flat in Rue de la Bellee.
Mr Ogier had not been seen since January and the last indication police had of him being alive was a packet of daily-dated painkillers.
The last had been taken on 20 January. Police used DNA samples to confirm it was Mr Ogier, the tenant of Flat 1, Le Belle Flats.
