College pulling together

NOVICES and veterans alike will be part of this weekend’s Jersey Post Sark to Jersey race.
One of the most prestigious Channel Island rowing events of the year, it will be the 44th time the 19-mile course has been used.
But making their debut will be four members of the Elizabeth College rowing team.
Although the school has entered in previous years, the make-up of the crew naturally changes on an annual basis, with this year’s five, including cox, being: Rory van Leuven, James Smith, Will Thompson, Xander Friedlander and Clem Rix.
This will be van Leuven’s second Sark to Jersey, with the other four all being debutants in a team that 18-year-old van Leuven set up this year, as he explained.
