RAIDERS who hammered through a jeweller’s window to snatch a £200,000 haul including a gold bar, escaped without setting off a single alarm.
Police were called to N. St. J. Paint & Sons Jewellery store in Le Pollet at about 5am yesterday after a passer-by noticed the front window had been smashed.
CCTV showed two men in hoodies, one dark and one pink with a white hood, breaking in an hour earlier.
Yesterday staff were performing a stock check to work out how much had been taken but estimated it could be between £100,000 and £200,000. Among the items stolen were rings, diamond bracelets, half sovereigns and a kilo gold bar worth £26,000.
* Police said arrests had already been made but anyone who saw anything suspicious between 1.30 and 5am yesterday is asked to contact the station on 725111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
