JACK MITCHELL and Martyn Blondel were right to give their partnership another chance.
The L’Ancresse golfing duo entered the Noel Shield together for the first time last year and went out in the first round.
A year later, they have won the prestigious inter-club foursomes competition.
Yesterday evening they were never behind in their final against the 2005 champions Rob Teed and Willie Kirkpatrick, but they were made to work hard for their 3 and 1 victory, as they had been throughout the competition.
Only three holes were halved on the front nine with Mitchell and Blondel, who were in receipt of two shots, opening up a three-up lead by winning the second, third and fifth holes.
