DANNY BLONDEL, the Guernsey and CI champion, won his first L’Ancresse club strokeplay title in the heat of Saturday.
And in so doing he ended the run of domination by Danny Bisson, Steve Mahy and Andy Eggo, who between them have won the trophy since 2001.
Blondel’s level par 70 matched his effort of the previous week and with it gave him victory by two shots from the eight times champion, Eggo, and Mahy, three times the winner.
The CI champion made the ideal start with a three at the first, but his two birdies over the front nine were cancelled out by bogeys at the sixth and 10th.
