Sixth Oakley spin takes total to £11k
Monday 12th July 2010, 1:00PM BST.
NEARLY 500 motorbikes took part in this year’s Oakley’s Spin.
Full Boar Motorcycle Club organised the event to raise money for the Oakley Waterman Caravan Foundation.
Club vice-president Shane Rosamond said it had gone very well.
‘The weather has been great,’ he said. ‘This is the sixth year we have held the event, so we expected the numbers to start tailing off, but it still seems to be popular.’
About 375 bikes took part last year, but this year there were already 200 at Salerie Corner half-an-hour before the round-island ride started.
