ALICE LOVERIDGE will be in the same Team GB squad as world champion diver Tom Daley at next month’s inaugural Youth Olympic Games.
The 16-year-old Sarnian table tennis star (pictured) received her invitation for the team back in April, as reported in the Guernsey Press, and was yesterday confirmed as part of the 40-strong group who will take part in the Games in Singapore from 14-26 August.
The GB athletes, aged 14-18, will participate alongside 3,600 competitors from all 205 National Olympic Committees in a competition schedule which includes all 26 sports on the London 2012 Olympic programme.
