GUERNSEY started off their ICC European Division Two Championship campaign with the most comfortable of victories over Gibraltar yesterday.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first at the KGV, the Sarnians racked up 264 for four from their 50 overs, which included three half-centuries.
In reply, Gibraltar never looked like creating much of a contest, eventually being bowled out for 123, having been nine for three at one early stage.
Guernsey coach Andy Cornford was happy with his team’s performance, ahead of potentially more taxing encounters in a week-long tournament that the home side start as favourites to win.
