Flybe fumes at Blue Islands Aurigny bid
Thursday 15th July 2010, 2:29PM BST.
FLYBE has tabled several bids for Aurigny since 2003, it has confirmed.
The airline heard through industry sources yesterday about the potential sale of the Aurigny Group to Blue Islands and issued a statement highlighting its frustration at its apparent exclusion from talks.
And it is calling for an independent inquiry to be ‘urgently convened’ to examine how the deal could be struck without an open bidding process.
‘Flybe has the longest unbroken record of service of any airline to Guernsey, has provided lifeline routes to and from the island in good economic times and bad, without recourse to a single penny of public subsidy, and is very disappointed that it has not been invited to make an offer for Aurigny,’ a spokesman said.

Why was Flybe not invited to make an offer ????

Split it in 2 (intelligently) and let both airlines fight over each bit – one each.

Caution required. I fear it could be more than the aircraft taking off!
