HOME advantage could count for a lot as Andy Priaulx looks to close the gap on the top two in the World Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Although the Guernseyman has to contend with 20kg extra ballast for this meeting because the BMW Team RBM cars carry the same maximum 40kg handicap weight at the Seat Leon TDI and Chevrolet Cruze, he goes to the Kent circuit full of confidence.

‘I really love this circuit – and not only because I enjoy a home advantage at Brands Hatch, which I consider to be a bit of a mini Nurburgring-Nordschleife. Overtaking can be difficult, and mistakes are easily made,’ Priaulx said.

‘Brands Hatch looks back on a long tradition, which you can really feel. I can’t think of a single driver who does not look forward to this event.’
