Clothes shop shuts after just one year
Friday 16th July 2010, 2:29PM BST.
A ST PETER PORT clothes shop is closing down less than a year after it opened.
Lizzy Mack in the Commercial Arcade will close on 1 August or earlier if the stock is sold. It opened on 8 August last year.
Owner Ezgi Garbutt (pictured) said she was not getting enough customers through the door.
‘It did not work, that’s the main thing. The shop location was not in a good place, people are missing it because it is in the Arcade.’

There will be more such closures if the barmy paid parking army get their way
Report abuse
This report implies that the shop is closing down due to lack of trade as a result of poor location in the arcade, not withstanding the fact that it is positioned right next door to a popular franchised coffee shop.
Ray, your comments build on this story adding fear over more closures due to lack of footfall caused by paid parking.
Unfortunately the real reason this shop is closing is due to Mrs Garbutt’s husband taking a job in the middle east!!….but that does not sell papers, does it!
